Declan Joyce
Declan is the principal solicitor at Kelly Colfer Son & Poyntz having taken over the practice in 1992. His background in both law and in business brings a very pragmatic perspective to each case. And yet it is his belief that the law is for everyone that truly makes the practice unique.
This human centric approach means that every member of the team is willing to spend the time with each and every client ensuring that they understand each step and are at ease with the process, even when the steps are difficult.
Declan is a member of Wexford Bar Association, Wexford Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Breakfast Group, Dublin Solicitor’s Bar Association, and New Ross Rugby Club.
He is married with two children and five grandchildren.

Von Bennett, Legal Executive
Von, a legal executive, triples as a legal secretary and receptionist, works full-time. Von is our longest serving member of staff, having commenced in early 1997; with plenty of experience specialising in auctions, buying, selling, leasing, land and houses, mortgages, gifting lands, wills, extracting Grants of Probate. Prior to joining us Von worked in the hospitality sector and for another New Ross based Solicitor. In her spare time, Von is a fan of Kilkenny hurling and camogie and Tullogher Rosbercon GAA club.
Clare McGowan, Legal Bookkeeper
Clare is the legal bookkeeper at Kelly Colfer Son & Poyntz since 2007. Clare has over 25 years experience in accounts and 17 years in legal bookkeeping. Clare holds a degree in Accounting Technician since 2004.
Aoife McGrory, Legal Secretary
Aoife, with connections in Counties Wexford and Kilkenny and originally from Donegal is our newest member of staff, having started in 2019. Aoife works full time and has worked for many years in the legal industry in Donegal. Prior to joining us Aoife worked in beautiful Buncrana with another highly reputable firm of solicitors. Aoife’s areas of expertise include compensation claims both to the Injuries Board and The Courts, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Wills and litigation. Aoife doubles as a receptionist, and thus may be the person who answers phone call or gets your email. During her time off, Aoife enjoys long walks & cycling in the scenic and sunny south east. Aoife also enjoys knitting and reading, in her spare time.
Kathleen Joyce, Office Manager
Kathleen trained in Retail Sales and Management, and has been in charge of all Office matters since 2005. Kathleen’s reputation as a straight talker and driver of hard bargains is well deserved.
